ForThePeople.in is India's citizen transparency platform, launched in 2026. We aggregate district-level government data — budgets, crop prices, water levels, scheme coverage, infrastructure, and more — and present it in a clear, accessible interface for every Indian. The platform covers 10 districts across 7 states and plans to expand to all 784 Indian districts.
To make government data as easy to access as checking the weather — so that every citizen, journalist, researcher, and elected representative can engage with governance based on facts.

Every number comes from a government portal or another reputed source, and shows where it came from and when. We never make up a number. When a source publishes an estimate or a projection (such as UN population or IMF GDP figures), we say so.
Currently live in 10 districts across 7 states — expanding to all 784 districts across India.
Data is shown in English and the language of each state: Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and more.
We check each source on a schedule, and every reading shows the date it is for. When a source is late or stops answering, the figure is not refreshed and its date shows how old it is. Budget and census data go back years.
No paywalls, no subscriptions. Government data belongs to citizens. We just make it accessible.

ForThePeople.in is an independent citizen transparency platform built on India's Right to Information principles (Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution). Data comes from central and state government portals (many released under the National Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy (NDSAP) 2012), from research and international bodies (such as IIPS for NFHS, the UN, the IMF and the World Bank) and from other reputed public sources (weather services, market data such as IBJA and Yahoo Finance, and news headlines under fair use). We do not claim affiliation with any government body. Every numeric value is traceable to its original public source — please verify critical information at the source before acting on it.
Every data point comes from a government portal, a public API, a gazetted document or another reputed source, and shows where it came from and when.
